1 Concepts

Running journeys only
Manual add actions are available for journeys that are currently running.

Settings still apply
Run-once, multi-run, and simultaneous-run settings still control whether a contact can enter.

Manual removal
You can manually remove contacts from a journey when needed for testing or operational exceptions.

Note: Journeys use the selected audience for contact data, criteria, and related fields.

  2. Use the contact action menu for a single contact, or use a batch action for multiple contacts.
  3. Choose the running journey to add contacts to.
  4. Confirm the action, and then monitor the journey to make sure contacts entered.

4 How to remove contacts from a journey

Here are the steps:

  • Use clear names for triggers and steps
  • Test with a small internal segment first
  • Review the full map before starting

6 Journey notes

  • Journey settings will apply. Therefore, if the journey only allows a contact to enter a journey once and the contact has already gone through the journey, this will not add the contact again.
  • Only running journeys will be listed.
  • Depending on the number of contacts, this can take some time to process.

Can I manually add contacts to a stopped journey?
No. Only running journeys are available for manual add actions.
Why did a manual add not work?
Check that the contact is in the correct audience and that the journey settings allow another run for that contact.
Does manual add bypass journey rules?
No. Journey settings and step criteria still apply.
