1 Concepts

Purpose
This article explains how to use Duplicate a journey in Tarvent Journeys.

Where to find it
Open the journey editor and use the left panel, the journey map, or the right-side editor depending on the feature you are working with.

Save changes
After changing settings, click Save to keep the update.

Note: Most journey items are configured in the right-side editor after you click the item in the journey map.

2 How to do it

Here are the steps:

  1. Open Journeys and find the journey you want to copy.
  2. Use the journey options menu and select Duplicate.
  3. Rename the copy so it is easy to identify.
  4. Open the duplicated journey and review all triggers, steps, and settings before starting it.

3 Best practices

  • Test with a small internal segment first
  • Use clear names for triggers, steps, and paths
  • Review Apply to which contacts criteria carefully
  • Make changes to live journeys carefully when contacts are active

4 Journey notes

  • You will then be navigated to the editor of the duplicated journey, which will include all nodes, email content, and settings from the original journey. However, the emails will be treated as new emails, and will not include any reporting from the original journey.

5 FAQ

Can I use this in a running journey?
Most journey features can be updated while a journey is running, but test carefully when contacts are already active.
Do journey settings still apply?
Yes. Journey-level settings and contact criteria continue to affect how contacts move through the journey.
What is the safest way to test?
Use a small internal segment or a draft journey before launching to a larger audience.
