How to add a text element
Text elements hold the words in your campaign. This article covers which of the three to reach for, and how styling a block differs from styling a few highlighted words. Follow the steps below, or watch the walkthrough first.
Adding a text element
- In the drag-and-drop editor, click the plus icon.
- Drag the text, content or footer element into your email content.
- Once dropped, select the element.
- In the content styles, change the styling of the text to match your messaging.
Which element to use
| Element | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Text | Text only, with no inline images. |
| Content | Text, with the option to add inline images. |
| Footer | A pre-formatted content element for an email footer. |
Styling the whole block, or just a few words
The two sets of controls do different jobs, and mixing them up is the usual cause of styling that will not behave:
- The styles on the right change all of the text in the element.
- The styles in the toolbar at the top change only the text you have highlighted.
Tips
- Use the toolbar at the top to bold a word or a phrase.
- Only a limited set of fonts is supported, because many email clients do not allow web fonts.
