What this step does
The Site notification step shows a site notification message to contacts on your site when they reach the step and match the site conditions.
Common settings you will see
- Name
- Edit message
- Any path
- Specific path
- Apply to which contacts
- Delete
- Save
Note: Use Specific path when the notification should only appear on one page or area of your site.
2 How to configure this step
Here are the steps:
- Open the journey, and add or click the Site notification step.
- Use Edit message to create the on-site notification content.
- Choose whether the notification should appear on Any path or a Specific path.
- Set Apply to which contacts if needed, and click Save.

- Trial onboarding: Show an in-app tip or reminder after a contact starts a trial.
- Feature adoption: Display a message on a specific page to guide contacts to the next action.
- Renewal prompts: Show a notice on an account page during a renewal period.
4 Step notes
Here is how this step behaves in a live journey so you can configure it with fewer surprises.
- You must configure site tracking for this to work. Go to Account > Domains to configure a domain for site tracking. You can use the same domain for sending and site tracking.
- The contact must have previously been to your website with site tracking enabled, from a campaign sent from Tarvent.

What is the difference between Any path and Specific path?
Any path allows the notification to appear across your site. Specific path limits the notification to a selected page path.
Can I target only some contacts?
Yes. Use Apply to which contacts to limit who can see the notification.
Do I need to customize the message?
Yes. Use Edit message to control the site notification content.
