The Unsubscribe step unsubscribes the contact when the contact reaches the step.

2 How to configure this step
Here are the steps:
- Open the journey, and add or click the Unsubscribe step.
- Review the step Settings and unsubscribe behavior.
- Use Apply to which contacts if the step should only apply to a subset of contacts.
- Click Save.
Warning: Use this step carefully in live journeys because it changes the contact’s subscription status.

Here is how this step behaves in a live journey so you can configure it with fewer surprises.
- Once a contact is updated to "Unsubscribed", they will not longer receive any emails in future steps of the journey. They will simply skip the step.
