Your daily send limit and how it increases
While your account is on temporary sending limits, you can send up to a set number of emails each day, and that number increases on its own as you send cleanly. This guide explains how the daily limit works, how it grows, and where to track it.
In this guide, you'll find:
- Your daily send limit
- How it increases (warm-up)
- Where to check your limit
- When you reach the limit
- FAQs
1 Your daily send limit
Your daily send limit is the maximum number of emails your account can send in a single day. It counts every send: campaigns, automated journey emails, and transactional emails. The limit resets each day.
This limit applies only while your account is on temporary sending limits. It exists to rebuild your sending reputation gradually rather than risk it with a sudden burst of volume.
2 How it increases (warm-up)
Your limit follows a warm-up schedule: a series of steps that each raise your daily allowance. You don't request increases or move steps manually. The next step unlocks after 24 hours with no new deliverability problems, so each clean day moves you up.
Note: Once you reach the final step, you're at your maximum limit for now. As your account returns to good standing, the limit is removed entirely.
3 Where to check your limit
Go to Account > Overview and find the Sending status card. It shows:
- Your current daily limit and how many sends you have left today
- Your position on the warm-up schedule (for example, "Step 2 of 4") and the limit at each step
- When your account started on limits and an informational review date
4 When you reach the limit
If a send would go over your remaining daily limit, here's what happens:
- Campaigns: we send to as many contacts as the limit allows, prioritizing your most engaged, and note the remainder on the campaign report. The campaign isn't blocked.
- Transactional emails (via the API): sends over the limit are declined until the next day, so plan high-volume transactional sending around your limit.
To make the most of a limited day, send to your most engaged contacts first. See how to return to full sending for the steps that raise your limit fastest.
