Changing the account owner
The account owner is the person Tarvent contacts when there are account concerns, such as payment issues, deliverability notices, or other important account updates. This guide shows you how to change the account owner in Tarvent.
In this guide, you'll find:
1 Before you change the account owner
You'll need permission to update account settings to change the account owner. This is available to account administrators.
The account owner must already be an active user on your account. The owner dropdown only lists people who already have access.
Important: If the person you want to make the account owner is not already a user in your account, invite them and wait until they've accepted before you change the owner.
2 Add the new owner as a user first
If the person isn't in your account yet:
- Go to Account > Users & security.
- Click Invite user.
- Enter their details, choose the security roles they should have, and send the invite.
- Wait until they've accepted the invite and appear as an active user on the account.
Once they're an active user, you can select them as the account owner.
3 Change the account owner
Here are the steps:
- Go to Account > Settings.
- In the Company information card, find the Account owner field.
- Open the dropdown and select the user who should be the new account owner.
- Click Save.
The account owner is the person Tarvent will contact if there are any account concerns. After you save, future account notices go to the new owner.
Tip: The Account owner field only appears when your account has more than one user. If you only see one person on the account, invite the new owner first, then return to Settings.
