This article explains how to use wait until condition step in Tarvent Journeys.
What we'll cover
1 Concepts
What this step does
The Wait until condition step performs an action or controls flow inside a journey.
Step settings
Configure the step in the right-side editor, and click Save after making changes.
Contact criteria
Many steps support Apply to which contacts so the step only runs for contacts who match selected criteria.
Note: After adding a step to the map, click it to open the step editor on the right and configure the settings.
2 How to use it
Here are the steps:
- Open the journey you want to work with.
- Locate the item in the journey map or add it from Add if it is not already on the map.
- Click the item to open the editor on the right side.
- Configure the settings for your use case, and then click Save.
Note: Use a wait limit where available so contacts are not stuck in the journey indefinitely.
3 Use cases and examples
Common use cases:
- Space out messages in an onboarding sequence
- Pause until a field changes before continuing
- Limit wait time so contacts are not stuck indefinitely
Pro-tip: Keep the journey path simple first, and then add more conditions or branches after the basic flow is working.
4 Step notes
- Tarvent checks the field criteria approximately every 15 minutes while the contact is waiting on this step.
- The maximum wait limit is 30 days.
- If the wait limit is reached, Tarvent follows the action you selected: continue in journey or exit journey.
