1 Concepts

What this step does
The Waits overview step performs an action or controls flow inside a journey.

Step settings
Configure the step in the right-side editor, and click Save after making changes.

Contact criteria
Many steps support Apply to which contacts so the step only runs for contacts who match selected criteria.

Note: After adding a step to the map, click it to open the step editor on the right and configure the settings.

3 How to use it

Here are the steps:

  1. Open the journey and go to the relevant area in the left panel.
  2. Review the available options and how they affect the journey.
  3. Configure one test example in a draft journey.
  4. Save the changes, and confirm the behavior before using it in production.
Note: Use a wait limit where available so contacts are not stuck in the journey indefinitely.

4 Journey notes

  • A standard Wait step starts counting from the moment the contact reaches the step.
  • Wait steps have a maximum wait time of 30 days.
  • If you use Any date or Any time options, Tarvent uses only the part you selected and schedules the next matching time accordingly.
  • For more real-time progression based on behavior or profile updates, use a Wait until step instead of a fixed Wait step because Wait until re-evaluates approximately every 15 minutes.
